The NRF of Afghanistan has issued a statement in response to the recent mining agreement signed between the Taliban and the Republic of China.

The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan considers the signing of any legal document including the (Darya e Amu) oil extraction contract between the Chinese CPEIC Company and the Taliban group, illegal and against international standards and principles due to the lack of internal legitimacy and international recognition of the Taliban.

Taking into account the historical and deep relations between Afghanistan and the People’s Republic of China, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan awaits that the Chinese government should not deal with such cases that are against international principles and norms; which will also causes resentment and instigates people’s sensitivity and deepens the current crisis in Afghanistan.

The country’s natural resources are not the property of a specific group or movement, the natural resources are our national wealth; any kind of decision in these cases should be made only through legal and legitimate public authorities.

The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan requests the regional and international community to understand the true nature of the Taliban and the dangers it posed through its illegitimate and oppressive rule, especially in the last one and a half years; they should work together to create a process that will lead to the establishment of a legitimate system with the presence of all the people of Afghanistan; to establish permanent peace and security and ensure the interests of the people of Afghanistan, the region and the world.
